About Elizabeth’s Canvas
Elizabeth’s Canvas is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supplies cancer patients and survivors with the art classes, supplies, and creative instruction they need to better cope with their symptoms, improve their wellbeing, and live empowered lives.
We are a community of friends, family members, healthcare professionals, artists, and educators all of whom believe in the healing power of the creative process.
Our goal is to prove that cancer might attack the physical body, but it will never erase the creative spirit.
How are we different?
Elizabeth’s Canvas is a service provider. Our goal is to provide cancer patients and survivors with the tools they need to live a life with less pain and anxiety, not to raise money for cancer research.
Currently most cancer related non-profits are focused on raising money for research, which is great! More patients are surviving and more survivors are living longer lives. But what happens next? How are patients and survivors supposed to live complete and inspired lives once they have had cancer?
Elizabeth’s Canvas believes that the creative process can help answer these questions. Research has proven that the creative process can reduce pain and anxiety and improve self-esteem; consequently, we provide cancer patients and survivors with the tools they need to freely express themselves.
